Meet Sally Townley, your Greens Coffs Harbour City Councillor

Many of you will already be aware that we have a Greens representative on Coffs Harbour City Council, Dr Sally Townley.  We thought you may like to know more about Sally and what she is involved with on council and with a little encouragement we've been able to put this together for you.

Sally has been proudly serving the Coffs Harbour community as the Greens councillor since October 2012. Sally was Deputy Mayor during the 2014-2015 term.

Sally's professional background is environmental science and ecology and she has worked in this field for 25 years. Sally graduated from SCU Lismore in 1989 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Coastal Management) and later completed her PhD thesis in the field of wildlife ecology.

Since moving to Coffs Harbour in 2000, Sally has worked for the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Coffs Harbour City Council and as a consultant ecologist for various government and private bodies. Having a professional knowledge of biodiversity, conservation assessment and planning law has put Sally in a great position as a councillor.

Sally is a very busy person, sitting on a range of committees including; the Environmental Working Group, Floodplain Management, Estuary Management, Koala Plan of Management, Library, Bushfire Management and others. Her mission as a councillor is to achieve sustainable outcomes for the community. This includes working hard to be informed about current and future initiatives within council and working with staff and fellow councillors to bring about Green objectives such as biodiversity protection, increased renewable energy, social equity and opportunities and to be a contact point for community members.

If you would like to discuss any issue with Sally, feel free to email
